Six Startups, One Room Full of Investors
SEE UP brought its latest cohort to the Grand Plaza Hotel in Ljubljana, where our Demo Day took place as part of the Bloomberg Adria Business Forum. The programme combined six startup pitches with a dedicated matchmaking session, giving founders direct access to investors and strategic partners from across the region and beyond.
The Startups
Each team had five minutes to present and five minutes to answer questions from the audience.
On stage were Startex AI, an AI platform connecting company buyers, sellers and M&A advisers; ITER IDEA / AIRP, AI software for business resource planning; Saevlon, portable AI-powered imaging for material analysis; Moree, a reusable food packaging system starting with coffee; SMARTSY, smart dog houses for retail locations, already working with IKEA Croatia and BILLA Austria; and Mono Technologies, with its high-performance Gateway router.
From Pitch to Conversation
After the pitches, the stage gave way to investor and startup matchmaking. Founders met one-on-one with representatives of LAUNCHub Ventures, Fil Rouge Capital, Silicon Gardens, SC Ventures, Tivoli Partners, FeelsGood Capital, STRT Invest, Agoge Ventures, Vrbas Capital, ABC Accelerator and Kompas Kapital, as well as business angels and ecosystem partners. For us, this is what Demo Day is really about: turning five minutes on stage into conversations that can shape the next stage of growth.
Building Global Companies from the Region
Earlier in the afternoon, Nicolò Joswig of Startex AI joined the panel “From Startup to Global Company: Would You Build It in Slovenia?” alongside Andraž Logar, Jakob Gajšek and Dr Simon Savšek. Moderated by David Giron, Co-founder of eFrontiers, the discussion explored capital, talent and the conditions founders need to grow internationally.
The wider forum agenda covered some of the most pressing topics for Europe’s business community, from European competitiveness and digital sovereignty to cybersecurity, the digital euro and AI regulation.
